What is the money raised at BiG Cardio used for?

When can I pick up my packet that includes my bib and chip?
Pre-race packet pickup is Friday, March 1, 2024 from 4pm – 7pm at Broward Central Regional Park, 3700 NW 11th Place, Lauderhill, Florida 33311. Please go to the Corporate Shelter inside the park near the footballs fields.

Can I pick up my packet on race day?
Yes, packet pickup will be available starting at 6am. Make sure you arrive early with enough time to park, make your way to registration, stand in line, pin your bib to your clothing, secure your belongings, and return to the start line for a prompt start time of 7am. We recommend arriving no later than 6:20am.

Do I need to train for the BiG Children’s Foundation BiG Cardio?
It depends on the activities you are participating in. Generally speaking, if you are walking the 5K, or doing any of the fitness classes or obstacle course, it is recommended that one be sufficiently able to do so with no medical restrictions. If you are running the 5K or competing in the sports tournaments, it is recommended that you train accordingly and preferably be cleared by a doctor. Like all such events, you participate at your own risk and a signed waiver is required in order to register.

How long will I have to complete the 5K?
There is no cutoff for completion of the course if you are walking it, however, the timing aspect of the 5K cuts off at 8am and the gates to the park reopen to the public. You may continue on the course at your own leisure and at the risk of auto traffic on the course. When ready, please join us on the fields for additional fun activities, fitness classes, sports, food and entertainment.

Will there be awards or medals given to the winners?

Yes! Although the awards vary from year to year, as a general rule of thumb we recognize the top 3 male winners, and the top 3 female winners in each age category 6-80+ years old, as well as an overall male and and overall female winner.

Can I do the 5K and participate in the other activities as well?
Yes! There are basically 3 category types: 5K/Fitness (includes the 5K or 1-Mile Prayer Walk, and all things fitness), a Sports Tournament (choose between basketball, soccer, or volleyball), or Multipack, whereas you have both fitness and sports. When you register, select the activities and/or sports tournament that you would like to participate in. Prices may vary depending on your choices. Visit Option Descriptions above for more details.

I've noticed that the letter "G" in BiG Cardio seems to be capitalized when mentioned in plain text, is there a significance to that?

Yes! Glad you asked. BiG means Believe in God and ties back to the roots of our inception in 2008.
